Virtual Gastric Band Hypnosis: A Safe and Effective Weight Loss Solution

Gastric band surgery was first offered to obese patients in the UK in the early 1990s. The first laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding (LAGB) procedure was performed in Europe in 1993 by Dr. Mitiku Belachew in Belgium. Following this, the LAGB procedure was introduced to the UK in 1994 by Dr. Paul Super, who performed the first procedure in the country at Musgrove Park Hospital in Somerset.

In the years following the introduction of the LAGB procedure, gastric band surgery became an increasingly popular weight loss option in the UK. The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) issued guidelines on the use of gastric band surgery in 2002, recommending it as a weight loss option for people with a body mass index (BMI) of 35 or above who had not been able to lose weight through diet and exercise alone.

Since then, gastric band surgery has continued to be a popular weight loss option in the UK. However, in recent years, there has been growing interest in alternative weight loss techniques, such as virtual gastric band hypnosis, which offer a safe, non-invasive alternative to traditional weight loss surgeries.

Virtual Gastric Band Hypnosis.

Virtual gastric band hypnosis is a technique that involves using self-hypnosis recordings to simulate the effects of a physical gastric band surgery on the stomach. This technique has gained popularity in recent years as a safe, non-invasive alternative to traditional weight loss surgeries.

What is a gastric band?

A gastric band is a surgical procedure where a band is placed around the upper part of the stomach to restrict the amount of food that can be consumed. The band is adjusted periodically to maintain a feeling of fullness with smaller portions of food.

How does virtual gastric band hypnosis work?

Virtual gastric band hypnosis uses self-hypnosis recordings to create a similar effect to the physical gastric band surgery. During the hypnosis session, the patient is guided to imagine the placement of a virtual gastric band around their stomach. The patient is instructed to visualize the tightening of the band, creating a feeling of fullness with smaller portions of food.

The patient is also guided to imagine making healthier food choices and incorporating regular exercise into their daily routine. By addressing the underlying psychological and behavioural factors that contribute to overeating, virtual gastric band hypnosis aims to promote long-term weight loss.

What are the benefits of virtual gastric band hypnosis?

Virtual gastric band hypnosis has several benefits over traditional weight loss surgeries. It is a safe, non-invasive procedure that does not require anaesthesia or hospitalization. It is also significantly cheaper than physical gastric band surgery.

Virtual gastric band hypnosis also addresses the psychological and behavioural factors that contribute to overeating. By promoting healthy eating habits and regular exercise, it promotes long-term weight loss and a healthier lifestyle.

What are the benefits of using a pre-recorded Gastric Band Hypnosis session?

Using a self-hypnosis recording for a virtual gastric band has several advantages over seeing a hypnotherapist face to face:

  1. Cost-Effective: Using a self-hypnosis recording for a virtual gastric band is typically less expensive than seeing a hypnotherapist in person. The cost of virtual gastric band hypnosis recordings is often significantly lower than the cost of face-to-face hypnotherapy sessions.

  2. Convenience: With a self-hypnosis recording, you can undergo hypnosis from the comfort of your own home at a time that is convenient for you. You can use the recording whenever you want and as often as you want, without having to schedule appointments or travel to see a hypnotherapist.

  3. Privacy: Using a self-hypnosis recording allows you to maintain your privacy and avoid any potential embarrassment that may be associated with seeing a hypnotherapist in person.

  4. Flexibility: Self-hypnosis recordings offer a high degree of flexibility in terms of the length and frequency of the sessions. You can listen to the recording for as long or as often as you need to achieve your weight loss goals.

  5. Reusability: Unlike face-to-face hypnotherapy sessions, self-hypnosis recordings can be reused multiple times, providing a cost-effective and convenient long-term solution for weight loss.

Conclusion.

While it may not be suitable for everyone such as individuals with certain medical conditions, such as diabetes or high blood pressure, as it may interfere with their medications, virtual gastric band hypnosis is a safe, non-invasive alternative to traditional weight loss surgeries. It addresses the psychological and behavioural factors that contribute to overeating, promoting healthy eating habits and regular exercise for long-term weight loss.

It is important to note that virtual gastric band hypnosis is not a magic solution for weight loss. It requires dedication and commitment to making healthier lifestyle choices, including healthy eating habits and regular exercise.

Virtual gastric band hypnosis is not a quick fix for weight loss, and it may take several sessions for users to see significant results.
