How to Cure Insomnia with the help of Self Hypnosis
The perfect compilation for a good night's sleep.
Can't sleep at night?
Insomnia can so frustrating and draining…
How many times have you gone to bed exhausted, desperate for a good night’s sleep, then struggled to drop off to sleep, or after only a few hours , you awaken, thinking it’s morning only to realise to your horror that you have only been asleep for a short while?
You toss and turn, watching the clock, getting more and more anxious and fed up about your lack of sleep, aware that those valuable hours available for sleep are diminishing as the time to get up approaches.
The more you try to sleep, or get back to sleep after waking up, the more impossible it seems that you will succeed; the more anxious you become, the more awake you are, and therefore the sequence of frustration, anxiety and tiredness continues. If you do manage to get to sleep you probably feel exhausted when you wake up and it feels as though you have only just nodded off, minutes before you needed to get up! This scenario can make you feel tired and irritable the next day, often during the middle of the afternoon.
Only waking up at the time you have decided it is appropriate to end that sleep. Using Self-Hypnosis to overcome insomnia is recognised by the NHS and it can break this cycle, allowing your mind and body to enjoy a truly restful, peaceful, re-energising night’s sleep.

This self-hypnosis session takes you on a deep, concentrated, therapeutic, relaxing journey of body and mind; a well-deserved “time out” from your busy life. Leaving you feeling relaxed, refreshed and energised both mentally and physically. Relaxation heals from within and gives the mind a mental vacation. Post-Hypnotic suggestions and ‘anchor’ words allow you to access the same relaxing feelings that you had during hypnosis, even when you are in a fully conscious state. Using this session on a regular basis during the day, will make it easier in the future to reach an immediate state of deep relaxation and calmness, at any time, in any place.
Main features of the FREE Self-Hypnosis session for Relaxation:
- Progressive Relaxation enabling each part of the body to relax step by step. Visualisation – “special Place” sequence for deep mind-relaxation.
- Communication with the subconscious mind – De-Stressing.
- Balancing of the mind, boosting confidence and self-esteem.
- Post-Hypnotic suggestions for calmness and peace of mind.
- Gentle, relaxing re-entry to the conscious world.
It is important to eliminate any other physical or medical cause for your lack of sleep, but true insomnia often has no cause at all, and this when Self-Hypnosis can break that cycle of anxiety, tiredness and lack of sleep, allowing your body and mind to experience a completely restful, peaceful, re-energising night’s sleep.
Hypnosis for insomnia encourages the mind to switch off sufficiently to induce a deep sleep in the first instance, and to stay asleep in the second instance, only awakening at the time you have designated as being suitable to end that sleep. By using Self-Hypnosis, you will become progressively more and more relaxed until you enter a deep, relaxed, hypnotic trance state.
The deep relaxation process will distract the conscious part of your mind, and while this happens, positive suggestions are given directly to the unconscious part of the mind, and this is where the fundamental changes take place. These changes then infiltrate through to the conscious mind so that the changes experienced in the ‘hypnotic’ state become realities in the wakeful state.
You can use both these sessions as often as you need to, we advice that initially you should use them once a day for 5 consecutive days.

hope this helps you as it did me.
“I have suffered from insomnia all my life and as I now have arthritis it is worse. I was really beginning to get very worried about this as I could feel myself sliding into depression. I have tried hypnosis tapes before but they have never worked for me. But this one does. I have never heard it all through, after about 10 mins I go someplace else. Sharon’s voice is very calming and also very caring. You really feel she wants to help you as indeed she does. I have also found during the day I am much less anxious and can sort of say to myself so what rather than getting anxious and miserable. So I highly recommend it but would just add one proviso-give it a proper go, listen several times and don’t resist, just go with the flow and let it work. I hope it helps you as it did me, insomnia is the pits.”
This CD does the trick
I have never managed to finish either of these sessions – before the end of either, I’m asleep. In fact, I sometimes only wake up when the second one has finished, having fallen asleep during the first one. I suffer from menopausal insomnia (fall asleep readily, wake up at 3.00am with a hot flush and can’t get back to sleep/lie awake fretting). I use the deep relaxation session either after lunch or early evening, then the insomnia session in bed on my iPod. I virtually always fall asleep within minutes, well before the session ends. I still wake at 3.00-ish, but put my earphones back in, start the session again and I’m off again within minutes rather than lying awake all night. After a week of this, I’m starting to feel like a new person (after nearly four years of terrible insomnia), and have now bought an earphone headband in order to be more comfortable while listening. Sharon’s voice is not as mellifluous as on her Panic Attack CD, but it evidently does the trick. Well worth a try (and I’ve tried the hot bath, cool bath, yoga before bed, passiflora, Quiet Life tablets – you name it..

Having recently had a grand mal seizure and then diagnosed with epilepsy and placed on strong anti convulsing medication which has left me with an even more erratic sleep pattern, I was in desperate need of sleep but not willing to take any form of sleep inducing product. So having spent hours searching for alternatives I came across this CD and decided the cost was a small price to pay if it helped me gain the sleep I desperately needed.
Track 1 is frustratingly about legal copyright issues so you simply start the CD at track 2. And there the relaxation starts and doesn't stop. Sharon has a very calming British voice and the technique of tensing and then relaxing the body muscles section by section is so effective that I didn't actually get to the end of track 2 for the first few times. I have yet to reach the end of track 3. I am hoping that in time I will not need to fall asleep with the CD softly playing but I am in no rush to achieve this, the most important thing is that I am sleeping better. Overall this CD is so affordable and for me has been successful in aiding a better night's sleep, which I'm hoping will continue to improve, without the use of any over the counter sleeping tablets.
