...Once I had learnt how to stop the thoughts that created the panics, I
could control the feelings, so the cycle was broken - words are not enough...
Do you experience uncomfortable feelings of anxiety and panic?
Do you fear those feelings?
When a panic or anxiety attack takes hold of you do you feel a sense of terror, loss of control, a racing pounding heart or chest pains that convince you that you’re having a heart attack?
Do you feel you’re going “crazy” or something embarrassing is about to happen?
These are just some of the symptoms of an anxiety or panic attack. A panic or anxiety attack is an over stimulated flight or fight reaction, the trouble is the ‘off’ button seems to be missing! With our Hypnosis session, you can learn to control the panic and anxiety attacks, reducing their severity and often eliminating them altogether.
With practice, you can change your subconscious mind, and in doing so, it can change how you feel, think, react and behave in various situations. Once the ‘off’ button has been re-established, you can stop the sequence of feelings before they escalate and each time you do that, the fear-of-the-fear wil alsol diminish .
A panic or anxiety attack can’t kill, it’s just that they feel as though they can, so take control of them, and live life to its fullest.
You will find this session easy to listen to, with no gimmicks, subliminal messages, or irritating, overbearing music. The voice you will hear is that of a female with an English accent.
What are panic and anxiety attacks?
Fear is our body's natural response to a situation perceived as threatening. Fear can range from mild anxiety (which can be helpful when there is a goal like passing an exam) through to full blown panic.
If we take the example of the noise downstairs, let us suppose it is a burglar, as you fear. You may wish to stay absolutely still, so as to prevent the burglar from attacking you. You might want to go and challenge him or you might need to rush should he come after you. Your fear response would help with any of these. When you are frightened, you breathe more quickly so that you can get lots of oxygen to your muscles. Your heart beats faster to pump the blood round your body faster. Your digestive system closes down to allow your body to concentrate on the more immediate threat. This is your body's normal healthy reaction to situations where your body feels under threat; it is your body's alarm system.
The frustrating thing about panic attacks is that they usually occur when there is no obvious physical threat there at all. Your body is reacting as though it was about to be attacked when in reality it is not. In other words it is a false alarm. It is a bit like the annoying smoke detector which goes off at all the wrong times, because it is sensitive to small amounts of smoke. Or the burglar alarm that goes off because of the cat. Or even more annoying, the car alarm that is triggered by the wind. These are all alarms that can be triggered when there is in fact no danger. The same can be the case with your body's 'alarm' system. Sometimes it can be triggered off when there is no real danger.
The problem is that our body's 'alarm system' was designed many, many years ago, when people had to cope with dangers in order to survive. Nowadays, we are rarely faced with the sort of life or death threats our ancestors faced. We have very different threats, mainly related to stress. Financial worries, overworking, moving house, divorce, can all be stressful, and can raise our anxiety levels to the point where our 'alarm system' is triggered. It is a bit like a 'stress' thermometer - which when it reaches a certain level results in panic. Whilst a panic attack may be unpleasant, it is not dangerous. Quite the opposite; It is a designed to protect us not harm us.
So to summarise, an anxiety or panic attack is an over stimulated flight or fight reaction, but with Self-Hypnosis you can learn to control the attacks, reducing their severity or eliminating them altogether. With practice, you can change how your subconscious mind works, and in doing so, it can change how you feel, think, react and behave in various situations. Once the trigger button has been turned off, you can stop the sequence of the feelings before they escalate, and each time you do that, the fear-of-the-fear will diminish also.

I purchased this CD for my mum as she began to suffer from severe panic attacks which then lead on to depression. My mum was so independent and confident but due to certain worries in her life she began to suffer from panic attacks. They started off very mild at first but as her worry progressed they became very severe. They totally changed my mum into the complete opposite of who she was, mum could not be left alone, she needed constant reassurance and lost all of her self control, she had to give up work for a short time as she could not cope with the day to day things in life. It turned our world upside down. Seeing your own mum in such despair is heart-breaking.
Along side professional help I felt that there must be something more that could be done, we were the ones living with it day in and day out, something needed to be done that medication could not do. I had done quiet a lot of research when looking for additional help and a lot of people I had spoken with had suggested hypnosis and self help tapes. I came across this one in particular and from reading the reviews it seemed quite positive. Mum used the CD as instructed. She listened to the CD everyday for one week (more if needed) after one week mum started to notice the difference, she began to be able to train her brain into dealing with the signs of a panic attack, and using the coping strategies when having one. The breathing techniques were especially useful. The voice on the tape is not one that you get fed up or irritated with, you have a confidence in person speaking that they know what they are talking about. Mum has made a full recovery now and is 100% back to the way she was. I've got my mum back. Everyone is different but this worked for my mum, I would recommend this CD to anyone, suffering with mild or severe panic attacks, even just to give it a try. It takes some getting used to and patience in listening to it everyday but the rewards are well worth it.
Good Luck!
I read the only review that was already on here (Amazon) and though 'Oh well what the Hell its worth a try' but didn't expect much from it to be honest. What a surprise I got! This CD is amazing. If you are having panic attacks, or suffering from anxiety or depression then this hypnotherapy anxiety CD is for you.
Sharon talks you into a completely relaxed state (I felt as if I was melting into the bed) and then gives you techniques and sayings to help change your thoughts from panicky uncontrollable ones to calm clear thinking ones. I've only used it for about 2 weeks and its amazing the difference I feel in myself. If I feel a panic attack I simply do a couple of deep breaths as told by Sharon and repeat the sayings internally to myself and lo and behold the panicky feelings go away!!
I have Glenn Harrold CD's as well and although they are very good this one completely outshines them in every way. I cannot recommend this CD enough. It will DEFINITELY change your life in a big massive way for the better.
"When my panic attacks got so bad that I couldn't go out anymore, for fear of having another one, I decided it was time to really do something other than take pills. Your anxiety hypnosis session really started the ball rolling. ... thank you".
