It is important to eliminate any other physical or medical cause for your lack of sleep, but true insomnia often has no cause at all, and this when Self-Hypnosis can break that cycle of anxiety, tiredness and lack of sleep, allowing your body and mind to experience a completely restful, peaceful, re-energising night’s sleep.

Hypnosis for insomnia encourages the mind to switch off sufficiently to induce a deep sleep in the first instance, and to stay asleep in the second instance, only awakening at the time you have designated as being suitable to end that sleep. By using Self-Hypnosis, you will become progressively more and more relaxed until you enter a deep, relaxed, hypnotic trance state.

The deep relaxation process will distract the conscious part of your mind, and while this happens, positive suggestions are given directly to the unconscious part of the mind, and this is where the fundamental changes take place.   • This CD does the trick

    I have never managed to finish either of these sessions – before the end of either, I’m asleep. In fact, I sometimes only wake up when the second one has finished, having fallen asleep during the first one. I suffer from menopausal insomnia (fall asleep readily, wake up at 3.00am with a hot flush and can’t get back to sleep/lie awake fretting). I use the deep relaxation session either after lunch or early evening, then the insomnia session in bed on my iPod. I virtually always fall asleep within minutes, well before the session ends. I still wake at 3.00-ish, but put my earphones back in, start the session again and I’m off again within minutes rather than lying awake all night. After a week of this, I’m starting to feel like a new person (after nearly four years of terrible insomnia), and have now bought an earphone headband in order to be more comfortable while listening. Sharon’s voice is not as mellifluous as on her Panic Attack CD, but it evidently does the trick. Well worth a try (and I’ve tried the hot bath, cool bath, yoga before bed, passiflora, Quiet Life tablets – you name it..
